36 hours of coding, 137 participants, 23 projects: these are the numbers that can sum up the event! The Hackathon was dedicated to coders from all over Italy. Their main task was developing applications and projects to optimize the quality of public transport in Rome and the region of Lazio.
There were six main challenges that the participants had to face in the contest:
- Crowdsourcing & Gamification
- Mobile Ticketing
- Attendance Records
- Wearable Devices
- Development of applications for the disabled
- Sustainable transport
Urbango won the first Mobility Hackathon in Rome!
The team that won the main prize was Urbango, a team from Rome responsible for developing an app that can be used to simplify the use of public transport by discovering how many passengers there are on buses. The second prize went to iPusy: the application that measures the number of the people waiting for public transport.
